Jesus said that we should be like "little children" in the Kingdom, but, He never put an age limit on being a child!
It has been said that “God has no grandchildren … only sons and daughters!” This is because each one of us must have a personal relationship of our own with the Lord, NOT one based on someone else’s relationship!
And even though we call God our “Father”, we can think of Him as a “Grandfather” in the sense that we tend to have more fun with our grandparents than we do with our own parents!
Grandparents let us run through the house and make a ruckus, stay up later than normal and they always have cookies for us!
Our grandchildren can make a lot of noise and “celebrate” being in our homes … and this is how we should be when we come in to the House of the Lord, His Church … making a Joyful Noise!
"Things I Wish I Had Known When I Was A Young Christian" is about "the ways things are and how things work" as seen through the eyes and heart of a young child. It is written for "children" of all ages.
As adults we usually overly complicate things but if a child can understand these adult concepts and principles of the Kingdom of God, then maybe even an adult can understand how things work in the Church and in the Kingdom of our God!
And perhaps this is why the Lord said, in Matthew 18:2-5, “And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, and said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
"Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me.”
And in Mark 9:36-37 He said, “And he took a child, and set him in the midst of them: and when he had taken him in his arms, he said unto them, Whosoever shall receive one of such children in my name, receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me, receiveth not me, but him that sent me.”
Also in Mark 10:15-16 He showed His great love for all of children,“Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter there in. And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them.”
"Things I Wish I Had Learned When I Was A Young Christian" covers 19 Kingdom Principles in five lessons and is suitable for children of all ages, from 5 to 95!
